My Look | Valentine's Day with Mr Grey

Valentine's day is upon us and with week's of subtle hinting to the other half landing me with a ticket and a date to see Fifty Shades of Grey this evening I can say I am one satisfied girl. Now whether the film is hot or not, I want to be. I'm not exactly going for full glam as let's be honest most of this evening will be spent in a dark movie theatre with my eyes locked on and my mouth drooling over Mr Grey, so I'm aiming for a more effortless but pretty look.

For my base I'm reaching for my Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation which delivers a medium coverage that'll last throughout the evening without any concern. To touch up any imperfections and brighten my under eyes and any redness around my nose I'll be using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Then to warm things up and accentuate my natural features I'm reaching for Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze Glow. I'm sure that Christian Grey will deliver a natural flush to my cheeks throughout the evening, so I'll be avoiding blush on this occasion. Next to add definition and then set my brows I'll use the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil and Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara. For my eyes I'll be using my Lorac Pro 2 Palette and taking Rose across the lid with a mix of Nectar and Light Brown in the crease and along the bottom lash line to create some warmth. My lashes will receive several coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara because there is no better choice for Valentine's day! To line my eyes I'll take Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Liner winging it out ever so slightly to ensure it'll stay in place is there are any movie tears. Finally, for lips I'll reach for my Swear By nude lip which is the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Hepburn Honey to complete this radiant and feminine look.

Are you off to the cinema tonight as well? What look will you be wearing when you fall into Mr Grey's office?

New In | Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara

I must admit if I'm going to the drugstore and there is a new mascara available generally speaking I'll pick it up whether it was on my shopping list or not. This bad boy was no exception. I don't know what it is about drugstore mascara's - well other than the fact they're always reasonably priced, have eye-catching packaging, and well I suppose I'm just a sucker for a good slogan. Anyway, when I came across this baby all I was hearing is 'lash multiplying' effect, and inevitably it ended up with me at the till.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara £5.99 introductory offer until 17/02/2015 then £7.99 standard

I've not too much to comment on with regards to the packaging. I like the font on the bottle but the rest is you're kind of traditional maybelline-esque type bullet. It's rather a wet formula, which I tend to steer clear of generally, so I'm hoping that it 'ages' dryly but that's personal preference. Aside from that the shade is described as 'very black' and it definitely lived up to it. The wand itself is very interesting, and it was one of the reasons I picked it up as I don't believe I've used one even remotely similar before. The packaging instructs that you use the shorter bristles of the wand initially at the root of your lashes and then follow through with the longer bristles on the tips and I can say it's definitely easy enough to manage.. Although try not to be too heavy handed initially or things might get a little on the clumpy side.

So did I achieve the 'lash multiplying' effect?

Honestly, I'd say not quite. But this mascara has its work cut out for it as I'm a few lashes short due to several mishaps of late, but it definitely worked with what I had to offer.

I'd only note that I'd avoid this one if you're looking for volume as it doesn't give much. But lengthening is what I need so if that's what you're after then are you waiting for? If it works on my lash stubs it'll definitely do the trick on a full set!

I'll definitely keep using it, but I'm not sure whether it's going to make the swear by list yet.

Have you tried it? What were your thoughts?

The Right Pink | Mac Soar Lip Liner

I think it's best we start by covering the facts…

Fact One: The beauty industry is full of pink, and everyone and their dog seem to include various shades of pink in amongst their holy grail items; be it in the form of a blush, lip stick/gloss, eye shadow or nail polish.

Which leads us to Fact Two: I have never liked pink.

Now when I say that I don't like pink, I truly mean everything pink, no true Barbie pink, no pale baby pink's, no blue toned or red toned, no any other shade in your head toned.. I mean none. No pink whatsoever. Now I'm not hating on you pink lovers, in fact I envy your ability to pull it off. I have wanted to use pink, and I have tried to wear pink but something inside me always felt like it was just wrong…

Enter the game changer..

MAC's Soar Lip Liner £12.50

Yes we all know this is Kylie Jenner's lip shade of choice. The hype surrounding it and all other shades like it have been the feature of extensive media coverage and countless posts in my bloglovin' feed ever since her infamous instagram shot. But if it hadn't been for the hype I don't think I'd have ever found it, let alone owned it.

I have finally found my pink.

So tell me, what's yours?

TEN THINGS | That every woman thinks about before a job interview.

1. It only took three weeks, five hundred CV's and a whole lot of sass.. but I got myself a job interview!

2. SHIT! If I get this job then I actually have to work...

3. AND my interview is on Monday! I can wave goodbye to my weekend then.

4. However, the interview confirmation email does state 'professional dress is appropriate', its written there in black and white. What's a girl gonna do?

5. Right I need to complete the application form.. 'Section 7: What are your interests?' Do you think chocolate, wine and netflix count?

6. *Google's most common interview questions* Question 1: 'Why do you want to work for [insert company name here]'?

7. Question 2: Prepare a question to ask your interviewer.

8. Right this is it... I'm prepared, I'm ready, lets go!

9. *Walks around city centre aimlessly* SHIT! What was the company called again?

10. Ok, I have arrived! Hmm, I wonder what my interviewer will be like, you don't think by any chance..?
