Soap and Glory Haul and Review

Soap and Glory is one of the drugstore brands that I always gravitate towards, and the bath and body section always has me hook, line and sinker. However, having realised I have enough body wash, scrub and butter to last until late 2015, I have had to force myself to steer clear. That was until I decided to try their their makeup range.

Obviously, the makeup range has been there for an age now. But with boots offering 3 for 2 on their products and no justification to spend it on body products I just happened to pick out a few makeup items I have had my eyes on for a while…

I am a bronzer girl through and through. I don’t really own many blushes – it’s all about the sun kissed/contoured look for me and so their Solar Powder was my first stop when browsing. This two toned bronzer just calls my name. The colours are thankfully far from orange – even on my paler skin, and I love bronzing up my entire face with the lighter colour and then adding a little more definition with the darker. Even when I'm in a hurry this is the bronzer I reach for as mixing the colours together creates the most beautiful glow.

Glow All Out is a peachy toned highlight is not the most luminous of highlighters – but that’s exactly the reason I bought it. Its subtle shimmer in comparison to say Mac’s soft and gentle, allows me to highlight my features without overpowering the rest of my makeup. This definitely comes in handy when I opt for a glitter shadow, or alongside very natural makeup. Ultimately, its subtlety is to its credit.

Dupe alert! When I spotted Kick Ass Concealer I noted immediately the similarity between this and the Laura Mercier Undercover Pot. Just like the Laura Mercier concealer it has three stage’s, an under eye concealer, a spot on concealer and a setting powder. Its smooth consistency glides on beautifully and the powder does a great job at preventing creasing. I especially love this for covering the redness around my nose and as a direct spot cover up. The formulation is the perfect dupe for the Laura Mercier concealer; in fact the innovation of a pressed powder rather than the Laura Mercier’s loose powder makes this even more perfect than the original.

All these are now definitely staples for my natural day to day makeup look – and the compact packaging means they are also all very travel and handbag friendly!

Have you tried any of these products or anything else from the Soap and Glory cosmetic range?
